If you already store different information pieces about your clients, you can send them directly to user.com through the widget added to your website source. Learn how to use it for assigning companies to users.
In this video let’s explore the alternative option of assigning users to companies. As you know, you can automatically assign users to companies in a csv import but there is also a possibility to do it thanks to the custom user.com widget added to your website source. As you may have noticed in the “custom script integration” section, there are 2 code snippets to install the user.com app on your website. The first one to track anonymous users, and then the second one - to track users that are logged in. Thanks to the second snippet the additional attributes related to a given user will be passed to user.com app in the background, as user.com will communicate with the place in your app you store these additional data pieces. You can customize the code in a way that will let you save particular attributes values of your users in the user.com app. So you see there are additional attributes included, along with placeholders for their values. It’s just an example and you can replace them with the user attributes of your choice here. In addition, if you have information about Companies users are related to, you can pass them to the user.com app through this widget as well. The top identifier here is the “Company_id”, you can also pass another information pieces like Company name. All you need to do is adding this code snippet with all attributes you want to track to the “body” part of your website source, just above the closing tag, and replace the placeholders for attribute values with dynamic tags. They will tell user.com where to find these values inside your app. These tags vary depending of the system and solutions you use. But don’t worry, your IT department or web developers will know exactly what to do here. Thanks to them, individual data pieces will be passed to the app and saved as attributes of corresponding users. And that’s how to assign users to companies through the widget. Thanks for your time!
