In this video we explore different options available from the humburger menu in the user profile. Find out what changes or updates you can do here.
Let’s now explore what updates and edits can be done after clicking on the hamburger menu next to the user’s name in the user profile. We see there are a couple of options and first is Update. So basically from here I can set or update different user attributes, including custom attributes such as a shoe_size or preferred language. We see that the changes have been successfully saved when we have a look at the menu on the right, or at the user’s record in the People’s section. It's especially useful when you want to add new information pieces about this user, because, as you remember, in quick edit column on the right-hand side, there are only those attributes visible that already have some value in the system. So from here you can do both, edit the existing attributes and add new ones. The next possibility is a Delete. So from here we can manually delete a given user from the app. After clicking the system will ask you whether you are sure to proceed. Please, be careful here and confirm only when you’re 100% you want to delete a user, as all data and information related to them will be forever removed and there is no possibility to recover them. Then we have Update avatar. So after clicking here, the system checks whether there is an available avatar of that user in the Gravatar platform. If there is one, the picture will appear here next to the user’s name and email address in the user.com. And - Update timeline. To be sure that the user timeline in the centre of the profile is up-to-date, we can click that request here. Not many people will use this feature as usually all information in the user’s profile are up-to-date. But in big applications with millions of records there can sometimes be some little delays (eg when doing a big import or export), after clicking on that a user’s timeline will be updated. But as said, it's used really rarely. The last option will be however clicked very often for every user, as most marketing automation platforms DO NOT offer insights into detailed user logs. It allows you to display all automations which have been ever used for that particular user. Having clicked, it takes us to the dedicated webpage with details and statistics on Automations to which Amanda Smith relates. We can get an overview on the number of automations the user has been ever involved in, automation’s modules and names, then the time it took for an automation to run for that user and an exact date and time an automation was performed. It's an extremely useful in debugging automations as you can check if everything worked well and how long it took for a particular user. You can check where and when exactly sth happened for that user, which makes that functionality very powerful! So now we know what’s inside the hamburger menu in the user’s profile. Thanks for listening!
