Find out how to effectively filter out Products, Companies and Deals. In this material we'll as well cover creating custom attributes in these 3 sections. And of course discuss a bunch of useful examples.

Similarly to filtering users in the People section, you can as well apply filters in other datasets - in this video we’re going to focus on Products, Companies and Deals. Filters section is very intuitive and in each dataset you can find it in the exact same place - on the right-hand side after clicking on the small filter icon. Also, similarly to what you know about the User’s filters - products, companies and deals can by filtered by their standard and custom attributes, as well as attributes of events related to them. So let’s first dive into the Products. Under standard attributes we see a couple of options available like some straightforward ones - Name or Categories, Created and Last updated (which are datetime ones), we also have Custom ID which usually related to the item’s SKU, Quantity and Special price. We can of course tag products and filter by those tags here. Then going down to custom attributes - right after creating you user.com app this list will be empty. To create custom attributes for Products go to Settings -> App Settings, and then Products and Product attributes. Thanks to custom attributes you can adjust the dataset to the exact needs of your online business - for example, if you sell designer sneakers you can add a floating point number attribute - shoe size, or a boolean attribute - extra shoelaces if to some products you add additional shoelaces. And, as you see below, you can as well filter by Product Events. Moving on to the Companies, we see the very same filters’ structure - Standard attributes, Custom attributes and Events, which are exactly the same events that we have in the People section. In other words, events are always related to users, but, if a user is connected to a given company, you can apply event filters also in the Companies section. Let’s quickly have a look at available possibilities here. Among standard attributes we have some examples typical only for Companies - we can add the street name of the company’s HQ, then its postal code, Size (which here means the number of employees and thus it’s an integer attribute). Of course we have here some straightforward ones like company name, we can add a short description, contact details and info on location. We can filter by the date when the company record was created or last updated. And of course by agent assigned to them. You can create custom company attributes by going to App Settings and then Company attributes. It is very useful when you need to distinguish some companies form the others, for example there are a few businesses you closely cooperate with - you can create a string custom attribute “Partner type” with “gold” and “regular” values to be able to distinigusih your crucial partners. Let’s now focus on the Deals filters. When I enter the section the default view is Pipeline view as you see and we have some filtering options here. But I’m gonna change this view to our standard table view which can be easily done by clicking on that icon here. And then in the filters there are some standard attributes typical for deals like Currency, Pipeline and Stage, Status (which is to check whether a given deal is lost, won or archived) and Expected close date. You can also filter deals by Participants so users connected to given deals or Products so basically by products deals refer to. And of course you can create custom attributes for Deals by going to App Settings -> Deals and Deal attributes. For example if you run an online rental of high class audio equipment and renting period can be different for each deal, you can create a custom deal attribute “renting period in days”. And you can filter deals by events attributes as well (important note: like we said for Companies, events are always related to users, so filtering by events in Deals section is possible, if there is a connection between a deal and a user). Another filtering example is when you, as the CEO want to have a look at all deals of value higher than USD 500 and that have been newly created within the last week. And, last but not least, thanks to filters you can of course create segments for Products, Companies and Deals. For example: purchased within the last 10 days for “Products”, “US-based from telco industry” for companies, or , or “worth more than 1000 USD” for deals.
