Portfolio: iQ NetSolutions, VistaPoint Integrated Call Manager

iQ NetSolutions needed a new UI for their call control application. They knew it needed to be compliant with Windows standards, more modern and easier to use. The first step was an analysis of the existing design. We focused on areas like navigation (having fewer navigation bars and tabs), Windows standards (menu structure, key bindings, layout), and visual design (subtle colors, a visual language for icons).

One customer said, "It's just a matter of dragging the call onto the right icon and letting go. It's night and day. It is so much easier to use [than our old system]."

Compare the new and old designs

The first image is the new design. Navigation is consistent and collected into a standard menu bar with a single toolbar instead of many. It lets users focus on phone calls, not the call manager UI. The graphics help users understand the interactions more than before.

Example of VistaPoint ICM

The new layout: Better use of color, cleaner layout, modern and professional appearance

Previous version of the UI

The original page layout: Navigation is scattered, color and graphics fight with the information
