Portfolio: SWIFT — more than just conference Web sites

The SWIFT platform "merges the newest tools on the web — social networking, podcasting, tagging, and blogging — with the live conference experience." It's for conference presenters, attendees and organizers.

There are two parts to SWIFT:

The Web site has conferences details: your friends who are going, speaker information, blogs, schedules, session audio and video and more. Explore the SWIFT Web site.

The Facebook integration helps people connect their conferences to their existing social networks, which in turn helps market the events.

Together, these parts add up to a a rich conference experience that starts before the first keynote and continues long after the attendees are gone and tables are folded up.

SWIFT is just launching, and we're excited to see how people use it.

The design process

This was a very interactive design process and moved quickly.

Persona development  Defining the users helps keep the design on track. Personas are a great tool for doing this.

Group Design Workshop  A Group Design Workshop generated the initial design ideas, informing the first mockups.

Rapid prototyping  Interactive review sessions helped focus the design so the developers could begin their implementation quickly.

Monitoring use  As the application launches, we will talk with users and incorporate their feedback.
